The Moving Toy Mechanisms website has been developed to assist in the learning of mechanisms within Design and Technology for children who are 9-11 years old.

In Moving Toy Mechanisms children are encouraged to learn though interaction with the characters. They have the opportunity to assist Ergo as he tries to build machines which use different mechanisms to capture a small creature called Critter.

This site tries to provide children with a firm knowledge of the different types of mechanisms, and an understanding of how they can be used to good effect.

The site has been created with the kind cooperation of staff and pupils at Redhill Primary School in Staffordshire, and under the direction and guidance of Dr. Melissa Lee Price at Staffordshire University.
