Effects

Under the Layer menu item you will see how you can add some Effects to text you've placed on your canvas. I've included some examples of some of the more common Effects that are used on web pages.

For the sake of space in this tutorial not all Effects have been shown. You should experiment and try different Effects on your type.

Bevel and Emboss

Under the Bevel and Emboss option you also have several different kinds of Effects you can use.

You can also adjust the Angle, Depth, and Blur of the Effect. Again, you will need to experiment with each Effect on your type to get the best look.

Filters

Photoshop 5.0 also has Filters that you can use to get your type to look a bit different.

There are also many different kinds of Plug-in Filters that are available for Photoshop. One of the more popular is Eye Candy.

Try some experimenting with different Filters to get an idea of what you can do in Photoshop!
